Come hear Rutgers Professor Patricia Roos talk about her new, deeply personal book sharing her son’s struggles with mental health and addiction, that led to his death at twenty-five years old. Black Girls in Florida Schools Thursday Jan 9, 2025 Bayliss Fiddiman, National Women’s Law Center, will join us to discuss a case study of Black girls in Miami-Dade schools, and their experience with harsh school discipline policies. The girls reported harassment, harm, humiliation and other challenges.  The study provides recommendations to promote a positive school climate through holistic school safety.
